More Power! - The 'End' of the World

Like Tim Allen in Home Improvement, I love more power, and I got it when Luig bought me a gorgeous Makita Variable Speed Angle Grinder for my birthday. Now I will be able to complete my abstract sculpture, tentatively titled 'Scungili', and the other pieces I've been fiddling with. I am down to the sanding and polishing phase but did not want to burn the marble, which I was likely to do without the speed control. I am almost finished with my Mayan Couple as well. Funny, I started this piece and did not realize why I was craving something with a Mayan flavor. Being that it is 2012, a year fraught with great significance for the Mayan calendar, which predicted that the world would end on 12/21/2012. Instead of the apocalypse or armageddon, I believe it is an ending of old, outdated institutions and ideas and a new beginning for us all, a chance to improve the way we live. Personally, I plan on being more conscious and present minute to minute. Luckily, sculpting helps keep me focused on this goal.
